How Your Deposit Impacts Your Mortgage

Your deposit plays a key role in the mortgage you can get. The more you put down upfront, the lower your loan-to-value (LTV), which often means better interest rates.

For example, a 10% deposit will usually result in higher monthly payments than a 20% deposit. Saving a larger deposit can reduce the overall cost of your mortgage over time.

Planning ahead and setting a savings goal can make a significant difference when it’s time to apply.
